In the city of Maputo, a 37-year-old individual of Congolese origin was arrested on charges of manufacturing counterfeit currency and involvement in drug trafficking and consumption.
The spokesperson for the Maputo-based National Criminal Investigation Service (SERNIC), Hilário Lole, recently made a statement about the case. According to Lole, the individual in question was in possession of three grams of cocaine and was also carrying seven counterfeit thousand Meticais notes, which were kept in a vehicle and later confiscated.
“He stated that the investigation remains ongoing to locate other individuals who may be involved in the crime, with particular focus on the brother of the person who was arrested.
