Mozambican Dário Abdula Camal was an observer of the elections held from September 8 to 10, 2023, organized by Russia in occupied areas of Ukraine, alongside people who observed the last elections in Mozambique, as part of an organization created by the founder of the Group Wagner, Yevgeny Prihozhin.
Dário Camal was part of a group of seven observers from different countries such as India, Brazil, Spain, Iceland and the Netherlands, invited by the Russian government to legitimize the elections that were vehemently condemned by the international community and mainly the United States.
Commenting on a report on a Russian channel about the voting process in the elections in Skadovsk, Dário Camal said he did not see any violations.
In 2018, Dário Camal was cited by a well-known media outlet as one of the most prominent activists on the African continent, member of several international and global Youth forums, such as the Pan-African Youth Union, United Nations Youth, Youth of SADC, the BRICS Youth Forum, the Youth Energy Forum, the World Federation of Democratic Youth, etc.
In 2019, he completed a master's program at the Moscow Higher School of Economics and has volunteered for the ICRC, Greenpeace, International Fund to Save Children and UNICEF until 2021.
