GUIJÁ faces transport problems and poor roads

The GUIJÁ district currently faces a significant challenge with regards to transportation. The condition of the roads is precarious, which hinders the flow of traffic.

Commercial exchange and the overall development of the Guijá district, in Gaza, are being hampered by the crucial situation of the Chinhacanine-Halaze and Ndonga-Dindiza sections, which are the main roads providing access to the region.

According to Jaime Mugabe, district administrator of Guijá, the condition of the highway has deteriorated significantly. Mugabe noted that damage to the road became more serious after Cyclone Freddy caused heavy rain in March this year. The cyclone caused extensive damage to public and private infrastructure.

According to the source, development initiatives are compromised due to extremely challenging road traffic conditions on these specific roads. It is imperative to note that infrastructure plays a key role in the success of these initiatives.

Mugabe said the access roads are indeed interconnected, but are currently facing serious challenges. As you know, our district suffers the consequences of Cyclone Freddy, with rainwater flowing through it. The Chinhacanine-Halaze route was the most impacted and the situation is extremely critical.
