Mulotane in the dark due to the vandalization of PT

Yesterday afternoon, a group of unidentified individuals vandalized three Transformer Stations (PT) belonging to Electricidade de Moçambique (EDM). As a result of this vandalism, more than 100 families living in the Mulotana neighborhood, in Maputo province, were left without access to electricity.

EDM recently installed three PTs under the Energy for All Program (PROENERGIA). EDM technical teams carried out an assessment of the damage caused on the ground, as stated in a statement received by “Notícias Online”.

Its objective is to restore electricity supply to affected areas and resume normal operations. The extent of the vandalism led to EDM having to replace electrical equipment, resulting in a longer period of time required to restore power supply.
