OAM is committed to bringing justice to citizens in need

The Mozambique Bar Association (OAM) is committed to providing legal assistance to all citizens in need, through the provision of mediators in all Provincial Councils (CP's) across the country.

The information was provided on Monday by the Chairman of the OAM, Carlos Martins, at a press conference as part of Lawyers' Week. He explained that, for this purpose, there will be caravans passing through different neighborhoods to assist people who lack the means to hire a lawyer.

“There are 11 Provincial Councils and, at this moment, we count on the massive participation of our members, younger lawyers, interns and older ones, who have experience and our history of the evolution of the Order”, said Martins.

On the same occasion, the President noted that to mark Lawyers' Week during the week, lectures and round tables will be held where topics of interest to society will be addressed, such as: fundamental rights and freedoms, freedom of expression and demonstration, the issue of preventive detention and the 48th anniversary of the Constitution of the Republic.
