REVIMO obtains revenue of 1.8 billion meticais with the introduction of new tolls

Revenues from the Mozambique Road Network (REVIMO), responsible for the construction, conservation and operation of several national roads, grew by 67.3% in 2022, to 1.8 billion meticais, driven by the entry into operation of the new tolls implemented.

According to the 2022 report and accounts, released this Friday (18) by Lusa, the volume of traffic on roads managed by the featured company increased to 17.5 million vehicles last year.

“The increase in tolls allowed us to reach a milestone in our growth. REVIMO firmly continued the journey it began in 2019, towards consolidating its role as a strategic partner in the management and profitability of road infrastructures and related services”, says the company.

According to the entity, in February last year, operation began at the Costa do Sol, Zintava, Cumbeza and Matola-Gare tolls, which joined the Macaneta toll, along the Maputo ring road. “With this milestone, we started to operate a total of 12 tolls, three on the road between Beira and Machipanda, four on the roads connecting to the Maputo-Katembe Bridge and five on the Maputo ring road”, he highlights.

However, for the year 2023, REVIMO states that “the milestone will be the completion of maintenance works on the Macia-Praia do Bilene, Chókwè-Macarretane and Macia-Chókwè roads, infrastructures that will contribute to greater use of the potential of the province of Gaza”.

REVIMO has 562 workers and is held in 70% by the Mozambique Road Fund, with the remaining 30% being divided in half between the Pension Fund of the Bank of Mozambique and the National Institute of Social Security.
