The Mozambican Financial Information Systems Development Center (CEDSIF) revealed that the institution records more than 150 highly dangerous cyber attacks every day.
“To give an example, CEDSIF is the target of at least 150 attacks classified as critical every day. It’s a reality”, said the CEDSIF Administrator, during the debate on Cybersecurity and Data Privacy in the Financial Sector.
With this, João Alguineiro defends investment in infrastructure so that its mechanisms can ensure the identification and blocking of these attacks. “There must be a joint, systemic approach to the issue here.”
For the Administrator, it is a huge mistake to ignore the occurrence of these attacks, approach the issue of cybersecurity in isolation, and think that security is expensive.
The technological security of banking data requires multidimensional investments, recognized the President of the Board of Directors of Mozambique Airports.
However, Américo Muchanga states that to take the necessary actions for cybersecurity, one should not wait for all the resources to exist.
“Digital transformation requires telecommunications infrastructure, digitalized services, devices for accessing services and the financial capacity to pay for these services, but we should not think that we need to have all the conditions created to be able to start. We have to start with what we have today and produce solutions to our problems”, he said, quoted by TMV.
On the other hand, he mentioned that all actions to guarantee cybersecurity, through cloud computing, will require a regulatory framework established by the central bank and the National Institute of Information and Communication Technologies.
