South African low-cost airline FlySafair today opened new flights between Johannesburg and Maputo, as part of its strategy to expand international operations, according to an announcement from the carrier.
FlySafair, which has served more than 30 million passengers, has operated domestic flights in South Africa, connecting eight cities, and also offers international flights to destinations such as Mauritius and Zanzibar, Tanzania.
According to the company, in the first week of October, they plan to further expand their route network, adding flights from Johannesburg to Livingstone, Harare, Victoria Falls and, of course, Maputo.
FlySafair's inaugural flight from Johannesburg to Maputo departed today at 6:20 pm (Johannesburg local time) and will land in Maputo around one hour and ten minutes later. The company plans to operate flights to Maputo on Sundays, Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays.
FlySafair is a South African low-cost airline that began operations in October 2014 and is expanding its routes to neighboring countries in the Southern African region. The company is part of Safair Operations, which has been one of the leading specialist aviation service providers in Africa since its founding in 1965.
