SUSTAIN: Have we been deceived once again or is this a political war?

When the pilot phase began in the provinces of Zambézia and Nampula in 2017, the idea that was sold was that Mozambicans could now start to dream that better days in the country's agricultural and economic sector were finally relaunched. The media reported successes even without seeing concrete fruits on the ground. The photos about the project were fantastic, as were the false smiles that the peasants (members of the party) showed were something extraordinary.

In the newsrooms, writing about the reality of SUSTENTA was synonymous with heresy, the reporter was extremely criticized, and there were even Directors of media organizations who had news deleted from the website, simply because “it was a lie, invented information, with interests obscure (I went through that)”.

Even so, there were several campaigns on social media, television, and triumphalist reports, which emphasized that Mozambique was at a good pace with the implementation of the SUSTENTA Project. The tractors and agricultural inputs were displayed daily, but even so, on the ground, people linked to the project told another narrative, that after the material was delivered, no one saw where they were going.

Recently, due to so much propaganda, the idea was sold that around 90% of the families surveyed had three meals or consumed some high-calorie food, information that raised several debates and questions. However, as the popular adage says: “a lie has short legs”, recent developments confirm the narrative of the “enlightened and true sons of Mozambique” that SUSTENTA was definitely a “big mafia”, and that the coming days , Mozambicans will have more fellow citizens to vilify and caricature just like the “poor people with the hateful debts”.

Today, almost everyone wonders, is everything we are hearing and reading true? Will it not be a political war between wings of the Frelimo party or the Government? But no, the studies and audits by the Administrative Court vehemently answer that “NO”, it is another scam to which we have been subjected. It's another debt we didn't owe, but we will be forced to pay! In other words, SUSTENTA did not support the people, but rather, it supported the bills, luxurious trips, lives and dreams of a group of people who one day planned and discovered the formula that would help them SUSTAIN their projects – using the name of the STATE AND THE PEOPLE to get rich!!!

When will the Public Ministry say something about this? Will we have to wait for the foreigners to act before we start moving internally? Or is it really a political and anti-presidential cabal?
